In September 2005 aged 16, Reece Taylor represented England for the first time at the Commonwealth Karate Championships; in Wellington New Zealand.  His first step on the path to a International  career.

Success in New Zealand was followed by

a Silver medal at the Cadet & Junior European Championships in Serbia & Montenegro in February 2006.

February 2007 saw a repeat of the 2006 European Final between Spain & England; this time the positions were reversed & Reece became England's First  Male European Kata Champion.

May 2007 saw Reece selected for the full Senior Squad to represent England at the 41st  European Championships in Stavanger Norway; where he made

it to the 3rd round, narrowly loosing out

to a split decision; still aged just 16
